Whenever a patient wants to change the shape of their lips, I always try to explore their thought process to understand why they are asking for this. Historically this would be a red flag in patient selection, however in today’s society with access to social media, are generally better informed and have a much better understanding of their options.
As a provider you always want to evaluate whether the results they are seeking are anatomically possible and that expectations of process and progress are reasonable. Education and transparency are key here. Be honest and open with your patients, let them know exactly what to expect...how much product, cost, over what time frame, and possible worst & best case scenarios.
