This is Big.

Why This New Approval Has Us So Excited (And What It Could Mean for the U.S.)

If you’ve done Sculptra with me, you know I am a huge fan. So when NewBeauty published a piece on December 23, 2025 about Sculptra's newest approval, I couldn't wait to dig in. Sculptra just got the green light for some major new uses in Europe, and here’s to hoping it's only a matter of time before it lands here in the U.S., too.

What Is Sculptra Anyway?

If you haven’t had the chance to hear me sing Sculptra’s phrases, let’s start with why I’m such a fan. It’s a biostimulator, which is a fancy way of saying it doesn't just fill space, it actually wakes up your skin's own collagen production. Made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), it works gradually over time to restore lost volume, improve skin texture and create a firmer, more lifted look. With results lasting up to two-plus years, it’s a saving grace treatment I, Danielle Smith, Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner and Miami botox and filler specialist at smith & co, love.

The Scoop: Sculptra Goes Beyond the Face

Galderma announced a new EU indication for Sculptra, expanding beyond the face. The new areas approved for use include the gluteal area, posterior thighs, décolletage and upper arms. Berlin plastic surgeon Flavia Radke told NewBeauty that patients are no longer treating just  their face. Concerns like skin laxity, cellulite and volume loss across the body are now part of the same conversation. According to Radke, this approval lines up with what patients have already been asking for: results that look natural and feel cohesive from head to toe.

And with approval in the EU, that means the U.S. could be next. The FDA already cleared Sculptra for facial use, including cheek wrinkles, and Galderma has steadily expanded its approved uses here over the years. An expansion to body areas wouldn't be a huge leap, especially with more than 25 years of clinical history and safety data from more than 10,000 patients behind this product.

Think of all the possibilities if body Sculptra makes its way to the U.S. Imagine a treatment that helps your body build its own collagen to smooth, lift and firm areas like the thighs, décolletage and arms, with results that develop gradually and look completely natural. And last up to two-plus years. No surgery, no downtime, just your own skin doing the work with a little support.

I’ll be watching closely and will keep you posted the second this becomes available stateside.
