Inspired by a recent article in Allure, I’ve decided to talk about using fillers for the most natural looking you. Fillers have gotten a bit of a bad rap lately. We've watched celebs go from gorgeously defined to peculiarly puffy. We've seen the horror stories of migration and those viral MRI scans showing how fillers can expand over time. Your face isn't a balloon that needs constant inflation – it's a masterpiece that occasionally needs a subtle touch-up.
Choose Your Injector Wisely
Who injects your face matters more than what gets injected. Look for serious credentials, an extensive portfolio and someone who offers more than just fillers. If your doctor looks like they've been stung by a swarm of bees, run for the hills.
Like I always say, “Patients are always better off working with enhancing their natural anatomy. Photos can be helpful to get inside your head and get a better idea of your aesthetic preference. I'll then use the information as a general guideline but the main deciding factor is your anatomy and what your tissue and features will even allow. Following your natural markers, especially with lips, is how they come out most natural. When you do this, you can actually add some decent volume and size and they will still look natural and not overdone or too big."
My Filler Philosophy:
Start Slow: One syringe. Maybe two if needed. Then, we wait and let that filler settle before adding more.
Keep It Real: Bring your photos. I want to see the real YOU – your natural contours and features that make you special.
Beyond the Syringe: Sometimes fillers aren't the answer. Maybe you need laser treatments or ultrasound tightening instead.
